Exclusive: Huddersfield agree deal to sign Luton Town star

Huddersfield Town have agreed a deal to sign Luton Town striker Joe Taylor in a permanent move, sources have told Football Insider.
Huddersfield are long-term admirers of Taylor and tried to sign him in the summer transfer window, but were not able to get the deal over the line.
The Terriers are keen to boost their bid for promotion from League One and have moved to bring in Taylor to bolster Michael Duff’s side.
The 22-year-old has found first-team opportunities limited at Kenilworth Road this season and is keen to play regularly after loan spells at Colchester United and Lincoln last season.
Across his two successful loan moves, the centre-forward found the net 22 times in 46 appearances, with 10 of those coming in 19 League One games.
Taylor’s goalscoring exploits in the third tier have impressed admirers at Huddersfield, who now believe he could be the man to inspire their promotion push.

Taylor has played just 145 minutes of football in the first half of the season at Luton, with each of his 13 appearances coming from the bench.
Despite his struggles in the Championship, League One promotion hopefuls Huddersfield are confident he can inspire their attacking line.
The Terriers are prepared to spend big in the January transfer window in an effort to compete with free-spending Birmingham and high-flying Wycombe and Wrexham.
Currently fourth in the table, there is a belief that adding Taylor’s goalscoring prowess to their front line could fire them into the automatic promotion places.
Such is the level of interest in his signature that Watford had shown an interest in bringing the striker to Vicarage Road in the summer, as revealed by Football Insider, but could not reach an agreement.
His move to Huddersfield is seen as an impressive coup, and could be finalised soon following an agreement with the player and subsequent medical tests.
In other news, Luton star Cauley Woodrow has attracted interest from Wrexham.
