TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Juventus have contacted Chelsea about signing Axel Disasi this month.

Juventus are targeting Disasi as they hope to add fresh faces to add further quality to their defence this January. TBR Football previously reported that West Ham are keen on Disasi’s signing as well.

Chelsea offered Disasi to Newcastle United in August, which highlights that he has been unwanted at Stamford Bridge since the start of the 2024/2025 season. Eddie Howe was not keen on Disasi’s signing, who ended up staying put at Cobham.

Furthermore, the former Monaco defender’s exit is considered a way to fund a move for Marc Guehi, who Chelsea are interested in signing — with Maresca in need of defensive reinforcements as his side have shipped seven goals during their five-game winless streak in the Premier League.

Juventus contact Chelsea for Axel Disasi transfer now

TBR Football’s chief correspondentGraeme Bailey has been notified that Juventus have made an enquiry about signing Axel Disasi from Chelsea after failing to convince Ronald Araujo to bid farewell to Barcelona this month.

Juventus are set to sign Randal Kolo Muani on a loan deal until the remainder of the season, with a move for Alberto Costa also looking imminent now. Thiago Motta convinced Kolo Muani to join Juventus, who in turn snubbed the interested Tottenham Hotspur.

TBR Football can reveal that apart from the Italian giants, another Serie A club who have enquired about Disasi are Atalanta.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s trusted defender Odilon Kossounou has suffered an adductor injury, who is on loan from Bayer Leverkusen.

TBR Football understands Atalanta and Juventus have also enquired about signing Club Brugge centre-back Joel Ordonez, who Chelsea have enquired about bringing to Stamford Bridge in recent months as well.

As for Disasi, who was offered to Newcastle in the past, there is plenty of interest in his signature.

TBR Football have been informed that Chelsea will not be willing to take home any fee that is less than the £38 million (Sky Sports) they spent when having signed him in 2023; with the Blues also being open to a potential loan deal.

Disasi, who Jamie Carragher does not rate highly is clearly not in Enzo Maresca’s plans judging by the minutes he has played this campaign, considering he has started just four Premier League games this season.

TBR Football understands Chelsea have activated the recall clause in Trevoh Chalobah’s contract as well, as he is set to make his return to West London from his loan stint at Crystal Palace — further dampening the 26-year-old’s chances of playing regular football.

Why Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is open to Axel Disasi exit

Enzo Maresca is ready to move Disasi on as he does not feel that he fits the brand of football he is trying to play — as the former Leicester City boss will especially be striving for perfection as his side were held to yet another 2-2 draw against AFC Bournemouth as their form goes from bad to worse.

Disasi has been criticised by Tim Sherwood as well, despite him putting a heroic shift at the back in his side’s 4-4 draw against Manchester City last season.

"This is what you expect, a bit of quality and a bit of threat.”

“This is Chelsea we're talking about.”

That second-half they just defended their box, Disasi was their best player and I think he is probably one of their worst players.”

Reece James has stressed how strong Disasi is but Enzo Maresca’s system required his centre-backs to be excellent in possession as well.

Whether Juventus or Atalanta end up accelerating their interest in the Chelsea colossus remains to be seen.

But it seems like sooner rather than later, Disasi’s time at Stamford Bridge could come to an end.
