Exclusive: Liverpool make decision on Ben Doak's Middlesbrough loan as Premier League clubs flock

Liverpool have enjoyed a stunning start to the 2024/25 campaign under Arne Slot as they have set the pace in the Premier League.

The Reds came into the season with a lot of questions as to how they would get on with life after Jurgen Klopp.

But there have been very few issues for Liverpool who have seen their players take to life under Slot extremely well.

January additions could be on the cards for the Reds after a quiet summer window with Liverpool eyeing Valencia’s Javi Guerra.

However, TBR Football understands young prospect Ben Doak will not be recalled from his loan spell at Middlesbrough despite his impressive start to the season.

Liverpool won’t recall Ben Doak from Middlesbrough loan

Doak made the move from Anfield to Teesside over the summer in a season-long loan deal with the Championship outfit.

Boro have made a bright start to the season, and Doak has certainly played a big role in their promising start under Michael Carrick.

The 19-year-old Scottish international has shone on Teesside since his arrival in the summer and he played a starring role for his country on Friday as they beat Croatia 1-0.

Liverpool are keeping close tabs on Doak's progress under Michael Carrick and are happy with how things are going.

Doak received summer interest from Premier League clubs but he chose Boro with more regular football being offered.

And TBR Football can reveal that a number of Premier League clubs have enquired about taking Doak on-loan for the second-half of the season.

But as things stand, Doak is set to remain at the Riverside Stadium.

Ben Doak is proving his worth at international level

The winger has played regularly for Boro in the Championship with Carrick certainly keeping his word in handing the 19-year-old with game time.

Doak was hailed by Pet Nevin for his recent display for the Scottish national side in this latest international break.

And it is not the first time this season that Doak has really shone for Scotland with the youngster hailed for his showing against Portugal earlier in the season.

Despite impressing in the early stages of this season, Liverpool are not currently looking at removing Doak from the second tier with Premier League clubs offering him an opportunity.
