TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Tom Bischof rejected a number of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal as he is set to sign for Bayern Munich in the summer of 2025.
Bischof is one of the most talented young midfielders in Germany, who is capable of playing in various positions in the middle of the park.
The ongoing 2024/2025 campaign has been the 19-year-old’s breakout season for Hoffenheim.
TOM BISCHOF STATS FOR HOFFENHEIM | |
SEASON | BUNDESLIGA STARTS |
2022/2023 | 3 |
2023/2024 | 1 |
2024/2025 | 15 |
Playing in all three positions in midfield this term as well, the teenager’s mature displays have attracted the interest from several top clubs in England but Bayern Munich is his preferred destination.
Tom Bischof rejected six Premier League clubs as he is set for Bayern move
TBR Football’s chief correspondentGraeme Bailey understands that Arsenal, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, West Ham United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford expressed an interest in signing Bischof.
The German U-18 international’s representatives heard approached from clubs in England and across Europe even before he agreed terms to sign for Bayern.
However, TBR Football understands that the prospect of playing for the German giants was too tempting for the youngster to decline.
Bischof, whose contract at Hoffenheim expires at the end of the season could now join Jamal Musiala, who held talks with Arsenal and Aleksandar Pavlovic to form a youthful midfield at the Allianz Arena.
Sverre Nypan is keen to join Arsenal while Martin Zubimendi could sign for the Gunners as well, which suggests they moved on to other midfield targets after failing to sign the Hoffenheim wonderkid.
But the fact that Bischof generated interest from as many Premier League clubs as he did highlights just how gifted he is.
However, for any young German player, Bayern seem to be the dream destination.
Vincent Kompany convinced Tom Bischof about Bayern Munich transfer
TBR Football confirmed Joshua Kimmich’s agents are in direct contact with Liverpool, as his contract at Bayern runs out in the summer.
TBR Football also revealed Pep Guardiola wishes to reunite with Kimmich and if such an important presence in midfield leaves, it is key to replace him.
Bischof is similarly versatile in the middle of the park to the Bayern legend and recently, journalist Florian Plettenburg reported that it was Vincent Kompany and Max Eberl who convinced him to make a move to the Bavarian side.
The highly-rated midfielder is also expected to undergo his medical next week.
Whether English clubs have any reason to be devastated about Bischof’s decision will be reflected by how he fares in the 2025/2026 season.
Making the step-up to playing for the biggest club in Germany is a tall task and if the talented midfielder managed to instantly impress, Vincent Kompany and Max Eberl’s persuasiveness will be heralded for years.
