Exclusive: Norwich City line up deal for Arsenal 22-yr-old

Norwich City are very interested in signing Arsenal attacker Nathan Butler-Oyedeji on a free transfer, sources have told Football Insider.

Canaries sporting director Ben Knapper is a big fan of the forward after working with him during his time at Arsenal.

Butler-Oyedeji, 22, is out of contract at the Emirates Stadium this summer and is yet to sign a new deal – alerting a number of clubs at home and abroad to his potential availability.

The Arsenal academy product has been a regular feature in Mikel Arteta’s senior squad in recent weeks following an injury crisis.

He made his first-team debut in the Champions League against Dinamo Zagreb in January’s league phase clash.

Butler-Oyedeji has also featured 15 times for Arsenal’s Under-21 side this term, scoring 10 goals and notching six assists.

The forward had previous loan spells with Cheltenham and Accrington – and was the subject of interest from League One outfit Rotherham in the winter transfer window.

Norwich sit 10th in the Championship and are five points adrift of a play-off place with seven games left to play this term.

Arsenal ready ‘mega-money’ offer for Saka

Meanwhile at Arsenal, Football Insider has revealed (1 April) that Arsenal are planning to offer Bukayo Saka a "mega-money" new contract.

The 23-year-old's current contract is set to run until 2027 and the Gunners are ready to hold talks in the coming weeks.

Initial fears that Saka could miss the rest of the season through injury have been squashed as he is eyeing a return in Arsenal's Premier League clash with Fulham on 1 April.
