Exclusive: Sheffield Wednesday scouts closely watching Kilmarnock sensation

Sheffield Wednesday are among a number of English sides closely tracking Kilmarnock youngster Duncan Barlow, sources have told Football Insider.
Championship outfit Wednesday sent scouts to watch the midfielder, 17, in last Friday's Under-18s clash with Motherwell as they weigh up a move for the teenager this month.
Barlow's English suitors have been alerted that he could be lured away for a small compensation fee due to an issue with his contract registration.
The Owls are looking to tap into the cheaper signing option to bolster their midfield options moving forward.
Barlow hasn't featured for Kilmarnock's first team yet this season, with a move south of the border potentially allowing him to gain more experience.
Sheffield Wednesday are not the only club monitoring Barlow's progress though, as they do have competition from other English teams in luring him away from Kilmarnock.
Sheffield Wednesday want to enhance their squad with Duncan Barlow
Danny Rohl's squad currently sit 10th in the Championship after 26 games where they have won 10, drawn seven, and lost nine times.
The Owls are just three points away from the Championship playoffs, and enhancing the squad will aid Rohl in that process.
Sheffield Wednesday are looking to improve defensively as only three teams have conceded more than them his season, and Barlow could play a part in that from the midfield.
Barlow might not be the only player that Kilmarnock loses in the January transfer window either.
