Shrewsbury Town striker Tom Bloxham is undergoing a medical at Blackpool ahead of a permanent switch, sources have told Football Insider.

The Seasiders have agreed a fee with Shrewsbury for the 21-year-old.

Bloxham came through the ranks with the Gloucestershire side but is now set for a move away from the League One strugglers.

He has made 27 appearances across all competitions this term, scoring four goals and contributing one assist.

The forward has started in 16 of those outings for Gareth Ainsworth’s side.

Bloxham’s contract with Shrewsbury was set to expire at the end of the 2024-25 campaign after his most recent extension in May 2022.

He can play across the front line and has primarily featured as a right-sided attacker in recent weeks for The Shrews.

The 21-year-old has already racked up 157 senior appearances for Shrewsbury and Morecambe, scoring 13 goals and notching seven assists.

Blackpool sit 16th in League One under Steve Bruce after his appointment in September 2024.

Shrewsbury sit 22nd in the third tier and are eight points from safety under Ainsworth.

The Shrews have already acted upon Bloxham’s imminent departure, recalling Harrison Biggins from his loan spell with Carlisle United of League Two.
