Exclusive: Swansea eye deal for Leyton Orient ace amid contract situation

Swansea City are eyeing a move for Leyton Orient and Northern Ireland international Ethan Galbraith, sources have told Football Insider.
After beginning his senior career with Man United, making one first-team appearance for the Red Devils, before spending time on loan with Doncaster Rovers and Salford City.
The midfielder then departed Old Trafford on a permanent basis in the summer of 2023, when he signed for Leyton Orient.
Now a move to Swansea could be on the cards for the 23-year-old in the latter stages of the January transfer window, with his current contract down to six months.
Swansea City eyeing Ethan Galbraith transfer swoop
Galbraith has already been capped several times for Northern Ireland at senior international level, and helped Leyton Orient to seventh in the current League One table, one point adrift of the play-offs.
That has now caught the attention of Swansea, with the Championship side understood to be interested in a deal for the midfielder.
Galbraith’s contract with Leyton Orient is due to expire at the end of this season, meaning the January transfer window is their last chance to cash in on him as things stand.
The January transfer window has so far seen Swansea make one signing, with centre-back Hannes Delcroix joining on loan from fellow Championship side Burnley.
Football Insider also understands that the Welsh outfit are among the clubs interested in signing Luis Palma from Celtic.
After one draw and four defeats in their last five league games, including a bad-tempered derby defeat to Cardiff, Luke Williams’ side are 17th in the Championship table, seven points clear of the relegation zone.
Their next game sees them host Coventry City next Saturday (1 February) with the window due to close the following Monday.
In other news, Swansea and Bristol City are both interested in signing a former Celtic player.
