Exclusive: The offer Borussia Dortmund have made Chelsea for Carney Chukwuemeka ahead of deadline day

TBR Football understands that Borussia Dortmund have made a formal offer for Carney Chukwuemeka ahead of deadline day on Monday.

Chukwuemeka has been linked with a move away from Chelsea all January and it looks like he’s going to be a player to watch come the deadline.

Graham Potter would like Chukwuemeka at West Ham, however, there is interest from abroad and it’s looking like that’s where the midfielder could end up.

Dortmund have been pushing to sign Chukwuemeka for some weeks now and TBR Football can reveal that it is indeed the German side who are making a move.

Dortmund make fresh loan offer for Carney Chukwuemeka

TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey can reveal that Dortmund have indeed approached Chelsea about Chukwuemeka and that the offer on the table is a loan deal.

The German side want to take a look at the midfielder before committing to a longer-term deal.

Furthermore, TBR can also reveal that Chelsea also put a possible loan move to Strasbourg to Chukwuemeka. However, he made it clear he has no intention of joining them.

Chelsea are considering whether to let Chukwuemeka out on loan after previously demanding £40m for him to leave permanently.

The youngster is out of Enzo Maresca’s plans for now and is likely to get little in the way of minutes between now and May.

Chukwuemeka offered to Rangers and Celtic

While the window has heated up nicely as we have gone through January, it’s worth noting that Chelsea have been trying to offload Chukwuemeka for some time now.

Indeed, Celtic and Rangers were offered Chukwuemeka by Chelsea as far back as December and it is quite amazing that he hasn’t been snapped up just yet.

However, with Dortmund now there and pushing hard, it seems inevitable he will move on.
