Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are continuing to do battle over Víctor Osimhen with the Nigerian yet to decide where his future lies this summer, TBR Football understands.

Napoli supremo Aurelio De Laurentiis, famed for being one of the toughest negotiators in football, wants Osimhen's release clause met this summer and both Chelsea and PSG know what a deal would look like.

Both are willing to meet his release clause of around £110million but would rather a deal be done over a few years rather than in one lump sum, and to help smooth that over – players and further add-ons could be included.

Romelu Lukaku could be offered in Victor Osimhen deal

Romelu Lukaku has been linked as a makeweight in the deal and TBR has been told that the Belgian has been told he could be offered and he is believed to be open to the prospect of replacing Osimhen – but talks have not taken place.

De Laurentiis is not currently in active negotiations with either side as, like the clubs, he is also waiting to hear on Osimhen’s decision on where he wants to go.

Osimhen has long been Chelsea and PSG's leading target to fill their striker voids this summer. Chelsea are looking to bring in a first-choice number 9, despite an impressive debut campaign from Nicolas Jackson.

Both clubs are confident

PSG are looking to bring in a big name to replace Real Madrid-bound Kylian Mbappe and Osimhen is that man.

TBR has spoken to Chelsea and PSG sources and as it stands, both are bullish about the prospect of landing Osimhen.

Chelsea for their part are working on other potential options including the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Ivan Toney, Benjamin Sesko, Lois Openda and Viktor Gyokeres – but Osimhen remains the first choice.

The ‘incredibly quick’ striker ‘loves’ Chelsea and is a big fan of Didier Drogba, so perhaps he’d favour a move to the West Londoners.

A telling summer awaits.
