Exclusive: Tottenham fear £30m+ hit after Premier League blow

Tottenham are set to be more than £30million down on their anticipated Premier League prize money for this season, sources have told Football Insider.
Spurs have endured a miserable first half of the campaign as they currently sit 15th in the table, just eight points above the relegation zone after 22 matches.
Ange Postecoglou's side have been ravaged by injuries in recent months, but their 3-2 defeat against Everton on 19 January meant they have now gone six league games without a win.
The north London giants recorded a respectable fifth-place finish in the Australian manager's first campaign in charge last season.
That meant they raked in around £49.6million in prize money for 2023-24 as each position is worth approximately £3.1million.
Tottenham chiefs would have been expecting a similar – if not higher – finish in the Premier League this season.
Sources have told Football Insider Spurs' current league position would bank them around £18.6million, which is at least £31million down on their anticipated earnings for the campaign.
Tottenham could bridge prize money gap with trophy success
Tottenham do, however, have a chance to bridge that gap after performing relatively well in the other competitions they are competing in this season.
Postecoglou's side are currently 1-0 up against Liverpool after the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final, while they are into the FA Cup fourth round and are well-placed to progress in the Europa League.
But another trophyless campaign will likely result in no European football for next season, marking a significant blow to their potential earnings.
Spurs last qualified for the Champions League in 2021-22 after previously competing in the competition on a regular basis.
Their disappointing start to this season led to star defender Cristian Romero criticising the club's lack of spending last month, while a group of fans also held protests against chairman Daniel Levy and ENIC.
The ownership group did, however, inject £35million into Tottenham last month in the form of a new share issue.
Finance expert Stefan Borson told Football InsiderENIC could have made that investment to provide funds for potential signings in January.
Spurs have made just one new addition this month, with goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky joining for £12.5million from Slavia Prague.
Football Insider revealed on 20 January Tottenham want to complete two more signings before the transfer window closes on 3 February.
