West Brom have agreed a deal to appoint former Man United assistant head coach Rene Hake as their new manager, sources have told Football Insider.
The 53-year-old has verbally accepted an offer to replace Carlos Corberan and contracts are now being drawn up.
Sources have told Football Insider that Hake has got the job ahead of the likes of Urs Fischer, John Eustace and Raphael Wicky.
Dutchman Hake is available after leaving Old Trafford in November following Erik ten Hag’s sacking.
He only moved to United in July to work under Ten Hag along with Ruud van Nistelrooy, having previously been in charge of Dutch club Go Ahead Eagles.
Hake has also managed Dutch duo FC Twente and FC Utrecht.
The Baggies have been looking for a new manager since Corberan left for La Liga strugglers Valencia on 24 December.
Chris Brunt has taken interim charge at The Hawthorns, picking up one win and two draws in four Championship games.

Hake has picked up 1.30 points per game in his 365 games as a manager, winning in 128 of those outings.
He led Utrecht to a sixth-place Eredivisie finish in the 2020-21 campaign but couldn’t achieve European qualifying with the Dutch side in a post-season playoff.
West Brom sit sixth in the Championship with 40 points as they target a second consecutive playoff campaign.
The Baggies are next in action against Bournemouth in the FA Cup on Saturday (11 January) before returning to league action against Stoke next week (18 January).
