Expert: 'Big' Matheus Cunha twist emerges at Wolves after contract news

Wolves are preparing to receive big-money offers for Matheus Cunha and have secured their position by making progress in contract talks.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected in the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Wolves have ensured they will get the top price for his future sale.
This comes after reports claimed that the 25-year-old has agreed to sign a contract extension at Molineux despite interest from a number of top sides.
Brown previously told Football Insider on 1 December that Man United scouts have been keeping a close eye on his performances for Wolves.
Now, it has been said that a move is still possible in the summer transfer window but by committing to a new contract, the forward has secured his club a higher fee.
Wolves’ lacklustre performances so far this season have seen Cunha emerge as the bright spark in an otherwise disappointing season, and his contract news will come as a huge boost.

The Brazilian forward has scored 10 goals in 19 league appearances so far this season and has established himself as one of the most important players in Vitor Pereira’s side.
Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after spending over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that a summer exit cannot be ruled out, but it will take a “big” fee.
“It’ll be a huge boost to Wolves that he’s signing a new deal,” he told Football Insider.
“There’s been a lot of talk about his future, and I don’t expect that to go away even if he does sign because a lot of clubs are interested in him.
“They want to make the most amount of money possible for him, and having him tied down to a long deal will ensure they can do that.
“It’ll take a big-money offer to get him out of Wolves now, where it may not have done before.
“Wolves are holding all the aces and they’re now secure in their position.
“I rate him very highly and I know a lot of top clubs do as well because of the way he’s been performing so far this season and that interest is bound to emerge again in the summer.”
