Everton have been backed to complete a loan deal for Chelsea star Carney Chukwuemeka before the transfer window closes 3 February.

That is according to former Man United, Sunderland and West Ham scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 21-year-old would be interested in the move.

Everton have had Armando Broja on loan in the first half of the season, but his repeated injury issues have led to suggestions he could be sent back to Chelsea to facilitate a new loan.

As a result, they have been eyeing both Chukwuemeka and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall as potential options late in the winter window.

Brown told Football Insider on 28 January that Dewsbury-Hall is seen as a realistic signing at Goodison Park given his lack of playing time at Stamford Bridge.

However, they are also considering Chukwuemeka as an alternative option as Brown explained a loan move until the end of the season would benefit all parties.

The attacking midfielder has played just 130 minutes of football this season and is now looking for increased playing time to showcase his skills elsewhere.

Brown previously told Football Insider that Chukwuemeka will leave Chelsea on loan rather than on a permanent deal this month.

Now, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that a move to Everton would be the ideal opportunity for both the player and the club.

He’s got to go an prove himself somewhere,” he told Football Insider.

“We can talk about him forevermore, but it makes no difference if he’s not playing games.

“A loan move would suit all three parties, whoever he goes to.

“The loan club, in this case it would be Everton, can bring in a good player. Chelsea benefit because they get a player off the books. He benefits because he’ll be playing football.

“He needs a platform to show his quality.

“So that move to Everton would make sense because he’d be playing in the Premier League and it’s a position Everton are looking to strengthen.”
