Arsenal fans will be pleased with how their team has fared so far this season, with the international break allowing for a stock-take among clubs and supporters.

The Gunners sit third in the Premier League table, are doing well in the Champions League, and are in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

Despite falling short twice in a row in the title race, Arsenal remain as hungry as ever, thanks to the superb squad Mikel Arteta and Edu have put together.

With the January transfer window now on the horizon, speculation has begun doing the rounds with regards to players the Gunners could target.

Last summer, Arsenal were linked with a number of centre-forwards, but by the time the transfer deadline passed, they hadn’t brought in a new No. 9.

Fabrizio Romano has now shared the latest on the Gunners’ stance towards signing a new striker in 2025.

Arsenal could sign a new striker but they’re prioritising season with the players they’ve got

Romano, writing on CaughtOffside, said there is a possibility that Arsenal could indeed sign a new centre-forward in the next two transfer windows.

However, this isn’t a high priority for the Gunners at present. Their full focus is on the season ahead, and Romano says they’re confident about doing well.

"The North London club monitored their options during the summer transfer window but in the end, decided not to bring in a new frontman,” said Romano.

“There's a possibility that Arsenal try to sign a new striker in 2025, but it has not been decided as their full focus is on this season and the club are very confident about the current campaign.”

Arsenal will be happy with their options

Although the Gunners haven’t got an out-and-out No. 9, they have several options that have been doing well.

Kai Havertz is currently in red-hot form for Arsenal, having registered six goals and one assist from 10 appearances.

Gabriel Jesus also has a role to play at the Emirates Stadium, despite falling below Havertz in the pecking order, and Leandro Trossard is also in great form.

With that in mind, a new No. 9 is not really a pressing issue at present, and if Arsenal are going to bring one in, the likelihood is that this would happen in the summer.
