The Arne Slot era at Liverpool has got off to the best possible start.

The Reds are top of the Premier League at the moment and are yet to drop a single point in Europe.

There's no other way to put it, Liverpool have been brilliant this season, and one of their standout performers has undoubtedly been Ryan Gravenberch.

The Dutchman has been brilliant in that holding midfield role at the heart of this Liverpool team, and he's earned due praise for his performances.

In fact, Gravenberch has even been compared to Patrick Vieira off the back of his incredible showings this season.

Writing in his column for Sportskeeda, Paul Merson has been discussing Gravenberch's improvement this season, and he's credited Arne Slot for helping the Dutchman improve.

Paul Merson praises Arne Slot for transforming Ryan Gravenberch

Merson spoke about the impact Slot has had on Gravenberch.

"Ryan Gravenberch has been outstanding for Liverpool. Good coaches make players better, that’s exactly what Slot has done with Gravenberch this season," Merson wrote.

"He looks a far better player than he was last term. On the contrary, if you look up the road towards Manchester and you really can’t find anyone who has improved as a player under Ten Hag

Why didn't Ryan Gravenberch under Jurgen Klopp work?

Ryan Gravenberch's performances this season have been remarkable, but his drastic improvement has begged the question, why didn't he play this well under Jurgen Klopp?

Of course, it was a different system and he was used in another role, but a player this talented should've been able to star under Klopp.

Arne Slot has done something quite incredible here in that he's unlocked a player Klopp struggled to get the best out of.

That is a testament to Slot's coaching ability, and while it's still early days, it's fair to say that Liverpool are in safe hands under their new gaffer.
