'Frustrated': Troy Deeney says he's seen one Tottenham player look really 'annoyed' at Spurs recently

Tottenham Hotspur have had a really frustrating season so far.
A lot was expected of Ange Postecoglou in his second season at the helm. A place in the top four was viewed as a necessity, as was ending Spurs’ trophy drought.
Spurs are still alive in all competitions, but things haven’t been great at all. They are 11th in the Premier League, ninth in the Europa League and are set to face two games against the best team in the world right now – Liverpool – in the semi-final of the EFL Cup.
It really has been a frustrating period for Tottenham fans, and Troy Deeney feels one Spurs player feels the exact same way at the moment.
Troy Deeney says Tottenham’s Rodrigo Bentancur is looking ‘frustrated and annoyed’
Rodrigo Bentancur has had a difficult season.
The Uruguay international played regularly under Postecoglou at the start of the campaign. But, Bentancur was then banned for breaching the FA’s rules.
The 27-year-old has started each of Tottenham’s last two Premier League games now, including the 2-2 draw against Wolves on New Year’s Eve.
Bentancur scored for Spurs in that game and his performance earned him a place in Deeney’s Team of the Week on BBC Sport.
However, the pundit claimed that Bentancur has looked a bit ‘frustrated’ and ‘annoyed’ at Tottenham recently.
“He was solid, obviously had a bit of time off for his ban,” Deeney wrote.
“He’s come back, new haircut, looks ready and looks like he has got the bit between his teeth. He looks like somebody who was a bit frustrated and annoyed.”
Bentancur has a point to prove at Tottenham
On his day, Bentancur has what it takes to be Tottenham’s best midfielder.
The Uruguay international is good on the ball, solid without it and as he showed against Wolves, he can chip in with goals too.
The Juventus old-boy has struggled with consistency over the last year. That is the one area where he has to improve in the coming months.
After missing games when Spurs could’ve really done with him. Bentancur is back and has a point to prove. He has to deliver now to help his side salvage the season.
Tottenham take on Newcastle United next in a game that has been really painful for Spurs fans in recent years. We expect Bentancur to start again in midfield.
