Fulham defender Antonee Robinson shared an update on social media as he continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool.

Man United were linked to a move for Robinson in January, before signing Patrick Dorgu from Lecce for £30million [Sky Sports].

With Andy Robertson struggling to maintain his form for the Reds, Liverpool’s focuses have instead turned to Robinson and Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez.

However, despite the interest, Fulham are holding firm on a “huge” asking price, Mick Brown told Football Insider exclusively.

USA manager Mauricio Pochettino will be without one of his star players.

Antonee Robinson forced to pull out of USA squad

Robinson has been forced to pull out of the USA squad, following an “overuse” injury called tendinopathy.

In a post on his Instagram story, the 28-year-old detailed the issue, and apologised to fans, saying: “Nobody hates missing matches more than me.

“It was a very difficult decision to miss this international break, but I’ve been struggling with Tendinopathy for a few months now and it’s increasingly difficult to manage.

“After consulting with both medical teams [USA and Fulham], with the quick turnaround of the Nations League games I don’t think I could have contributed to the team at a good enough level, and this is probably the only opportunity to try and get on top of this issue, finish the season strong and give myself the best chance of being back with the US this summer in much better shape ready for another big tournament.

“Wishing the lads the best of luck tonight and rooting for us always.”

The USA will face Panama in the semi-final of the CONCACAF Nations League on 20 March, and the winner of that game will face one of Mexico or Canada in the final.

Football Insider Verdict

Having seen a move from Wigan to AC Milan fall through in January 2020, Robinson joined the Cottagers later that year.

In spite of his talents, the USA left-back spent a number of years plying his trade in the Championship, without ever really breaking out.

However, following Marco Silva‘s arrival at Craven Cottage, Robinson really found his feet, and has improved every year under the Portuguese manager.

The former Watford manager has given his left-back licence to patrol the left-hand side of the pitch with absolute freedom, allowing him to roam forward to support attacks at will.

This year, Robinson has truly put the piece together, and now sits only behind Mohamed Salah in the assist table, having set-up 10 goals for Fulham this season.
