Fulham man admits meeting with assistant manager – Positions have been made clear

Fulham striker Raúl Jiménez has admitted he's already spoken to Mexico's management about a potential return to the international set up.
The forward has been speaking to Fox Sports, relayed by Claro Sports, about a potential return to the national team under Javier Aguirre.
The 33-year-old has been in goalscoring form at the beginning of this season, bagging three goals in seven games in all competitions for Fulham to date, including two in his last two games against West Ham and Newcastle.
He appears to be pulling away from his struggles in the last few years following his head injury suffered against Arsenal suffered in 2020.
That form hasn't gone unnoticed, particularly by the Mexican national team, who are now being managed by Javier Aguirre, who has Mexican legend Rafa Márquez working as his assistant.
Jiménez has 106 appearances for his country after making his debut 11 years ago and is the fifth highest goal scorer in their history but has not featured for his country since November 2023.
He's been left out of every squad since as the previous management looked to move on older players for a new generation.
That's no longer the case under Aguirre and a recent injury to Feyenoord's Santiago Giménez has opened up the possibility of a return for the Fulham striker.
Whether he is in remains to be seen and Jiménez admits he's already spoken to the setup, Márquez specifically, about a return.
"Well, I have to do what I have to do on the field to get these calls, to continue being in the Mexican national team," he said.
"I have to give my best in each game, they watch us in training, but that helps me to do my best in the games.
"I was with Rafa about two weeks before the call-up came out, we talked, we had a meal. And well, good terms, everything was very clear about what was needed, what was wanted. Let’s hope that now the call-up comes.
"These last two years have been difficult, complicated in terms of results. The Gold Cup was won last year, but after that, in the friendly matches, the best football was not always played, the one that is wanted.
"It is a matter of grabbing the first leg, now there is a new coach, what is wanted, what is needed. We players know the quality we have, what good players we are, it is simply a matter of believing in ourselves, knowing that we can do things well in every game.”
