Cruzeiro are eyeing up a move for Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz as he continues to find himself behind Raúl Jiménez in Marco Silva's pecking order.

That's according to Bolavip, who report that Muniz is a target for the Brazilian side in the January transfer window.

They explain that Cruzeiro are already thinking of transfers for next season as they plan a 'mini reformulation' of the squad with arrivals.

A striker is being sought out as several signings are planned to bolster the club's attacking options and Muniz is one of the player's being targeted.

He's valued highly by Fulham after impressing last season but has found himself down the pecking order this season while Raúl Jiménez has enjoyed a resurgence.

Cruzeiro are not concerned by the asking price, which they have at R$120m, around €19m, and are devising a plan to get the Brazilian. They accept that negotiations with Fulham will not be easy, though.

The question is whether Cruzeiro are genuinely interested of this is simply a result of Muniz revealing not long ago that he was a childhood fan of the club.

It would certainly be hard to see the Brazilian club paying what Fulham would want or the 23-year-old being particularly keen on a return to his homeland when he's just broken through in Europe.

Because of those factors we'll take this with a pinch of salt for now, but it's certainly something to keep an eye on in January.
