Gabriel Magalhaes may have sparked rumours after leaving a message on Arsenal-linked Bruno Guimaraes' latest post.
The Brazilian midfielder is likely still basking in the glory of helping Newcastle secure their first major trophy in 70 years, following their dramatic Carabao Cup final win over Liverpool on 16 March.
Guimaraes shared an emotional message with Newcastle fans after the victory, struggling to hold back tears on what was a special night for the club.
Now, he has joined up with the Brazil squad for the international break, as they prepare to face Colombia and Argentina in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, with Arsenal showing heavy interest in Guimaraes, as they are keen to strengthen their midfield by bringing him to the Emirates.
It seems one of Arsenal's own, Gabriel, already shares a connection with Guimaraes, as shown by his recent interaction on social media.
Arsenal move for Bruno Guimaraes in doubt if they secure Martin Zubimendi
Newcastle's captain shared an update on Instagram after joining up with his national team, posting: "Beloved homeland BRASIL" (translated from Portuguese).
Gabriel was quick to engage with the post, liking it and commenting: "Vamo" alongside a heart emoji, further strengthening his bond with his international teammate.
While the Gunners have been heavily linked with Guimaraes and remain admirers of the midfielder, their chances of signing him appear slim—especially if they secure Martin Zubimendi.
Arsenal have already agreed a deal in principle for Zubimendi this summer, despite interest from Liverpool and Real Madrid. Signing two midfielders for significant fees in the same window would be unlikely.
However, Football Insider has revealed that Newcastle have "question marks" over Guimaraes' long-term future, particularly if they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League and receive strong offers in the summer.

Gabriel Magalhaes emerges as Saudi transfer target
Guimaraes isn't the only player linked with a potential exit, as Gabriel has recently been touted for a move to Al-Nassr.
The centre-back has attracted interest from the Middle East before, but it remains to be seen whether an official bid will be tabled this summer. Given his status as a key player in Arsenal's backline, any transfer would require a substantial offer.
For now, both players remain focused on their international duties as Brazil take on Colombia next.
