West Ham United are entering a new era under Graham Potter, and there are a few problems Potter needs to solve straight away.

Indeed, the Hammers haven't had the best of starts this season, and, once again, their main problems lie up front.

Niclas Fullkrug hasn't got going yet this season, while Michail Antonio, sadly, is out of action after his car accident.

Speaking on The Dressing Room, Joe Cole, Carlton Cole and Wayne Bridge have been discussing Evan Ferguson's future.

Ferguson has been linked to West Ham this month, while Arsenal are also keen on Ferguson too.

According to Joe Cole, Ferguson should come and sign for West Ham in this window, with the pundit saying that the youngster needs regular minutes at this age.

Evan Ferguson should join West Ham

Cole shared his verdict on what the Brighton striker should do this month.

Ferguson is valued at £60m.

The pundit says that if he was Ferguson's agent, he'd be advising the striker to join West Ham in order to get guaranteed minutes as he's not currently getting a game at Brighton and he's not likely to start for Arsenal.

"What's the likelihood of West Ham outbidding Arsenal?" Wayne Bridge asked.

"Listen, if I'm his agent I'm saying to him go to West Ham. You're not going to get into the Brighton team. You're going to take a step up and play, you need games, you're a young kid you need games, come and play for West Ham, it hasn't worked for Fulkrug yet, go there," Cole said.

Ferguson to West Ham could be a smart move. After all, the Irishman knows Graham Potter well from his time at Brighton.

Indeed, it was Potter who gave Ferguson his Brighton debut, and while they didn't spend too long together on the south coast, Ferguson did have a decent return under Potter.

Three goal contributions in five matches as a teenager is nothing to be sniffed at. Potter seemingly knew how to get the best out of Ferguson at a young age, and he could now replicate that after he's matured a bit.

Potter even praised Ferguson during his time at Brighton, via The Argus.

“He is an intelligent player for someone so young," Potter said.

“You look at him and you have to remind yourself he is only 17, so he's got an exciting future, I think.

“He's level-headed and a humble guy who again wants to just play football, wants to score goals, help the team, so he has got lots of nice attributes, good movement, intelligent, so we are happy with him.

This could be a smart move for all parties, and, as Cole says, perhaps Ferguson should consider a move to east London rather than being tempted by a side like Arsenal.
