Liverpool have “absolutely no chance” of signing Harry Kane this summer as he continues to hit career-best form with Bayern Munich.

Kane’s long-term future with the Bundesliga giants has come into question ahead of the transfer window, with a return to the Premier League seen as the most likely next move for the 32-year-old to make.

Manchester City’s former financial adviser Stefan Borson told Football Insider in February that Kane could cost as much as £100million to sign this summer, with an added £400,000 in weekly wages.

The Three Lions’ number nine scored his 70th and 71st England goals against Albania and Latvia over the international break, and as long as he’s scoring on English soil, a return will always be on the cards.

Football Insider have reported this month that Liverpool see Kane as a top target as they look to make up for the potential exits of Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez, and they’re seen as front-runners.

However, former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has told Football Insider that Liverpool, or any other Premier League side, will be a long shot to sign Kane this summer given his electric form in Munich.

Liverpool are ‘not a chance’ of signing Harry Kane

Liverpool’s squad is in need of a high-quality rebuild this summer – with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s exit already signed and sealed – and despite being 32, Kane’s quality will undoubtedly appeal to Arne Slot.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, Robinson wasn’t optimistic for Liverpool’s chances of signing the European Golden Shoe holder, dismissing the idea that Kane wants to leave Bayern.

"Kite-flying journalism once again – no chance whatsoever. Absolutely no chance”, Robinson told Football Insider.

“He’s very much enjoying life at Bayern Munich at the moment, scoring a lot of goals.

“Bayern Munich [are] progressing very, very well in both the Champions League and [with] the way they’ve played in Europe this year, he’s in a good place. Liverpool? Not a chance."

Liverpool may be forced to move on from Harry Kane

Even if they don’t sign Kane, Liverpool fans will be expecting to see at least one world-class addition made to the Reds’ frontline this summer, as doubt lingers over the future of several star players.

Salah’s soon-to-expire contract is without doubt Liverpool’s most pressing concern, but the futures of players like Luis Diaz have also come under the microscope as Slot closes in on the Premier League title.

Bringing in a player such as Xavi Simons would help soften the blow of wide forwards like Salah and Diaz departing, but with Slot in desperate need of an out-and-out number nine, it remains to be seen where Liverpool will turn next if signing Kane is off the table.
