‘Have you been drinking?’ – Furious row erupts on talkSPORT after Liverpool branded ‘boring’

Jason Cundy left Liverpool fans furious by claiming that Arne Slot’s team are ‘boring’ to watch.
The Reds are still on for a quadruple this season – topping the Premier League and Champions League while remaining in both domestic cup competitions.
A 2-1 win over Lille in Europe on Tuesday night means the Reds are still the only team with a flawless record in the Champions League.
They sit at the top of the 36-team table with 21 points, three clear of second-placed Barcelona, with one game remaining.
Yet, despite Liverpool's remarkable campaign, Cundy is less than impressed with their style, leaving one Reds supporter, Paul, and Jamie O'Hara in disbelief.
"My gosh, are they not a bit dull to watch,” ex-Chelsea player Cundy remarked.
"I'm sitting there watching them play, and it's a bit pass, pass, pass."
O'Hara shot back: "They're top of the league mate, they qualified, they're getting it done they're efficient."
Cundy countered: "If you're talking to me about results and getting things done and the best team, I won't have that argument. What I'm saying is I just find them dull.”
O’Hara sighed: "What is your problem with Liverpool, seriously?
"They're a proper football team, top of the table, top of the Champions League, what more do you want? I find them very entertaining to watch."
Cundy replied: "But you're a Spurs fan!
"That tells me that you've not seen entertaining football. I'd love Liverpool fans to phone me up and tell me this is a better watch than Klopp. They're a boring team to watch."
Paul, the Liverpool fan, took that as an invitation to challenge Cundy on the Sports Bar, sparking a furious row live on air.
"Has Cundy been drinking tonight or was he drinking last night?" Paul jokingly said.
"What Slot has got is a bit more calm behind the ball, as you said, he plays it side to side whereas Klopp would always try and go forward. What's your point, Jason?"
"I just find them hard to watch," Cundy replied, unmoved by Paul's argument.
"Because you're a Chelsea fan!" O'Hara laughed.
Cundy persisted: "I don't know why you would care because like you said you're top of the table and you're going to win the title. The truth is you're quite dull to watch."
"You've got nothing to back that up with," Paul retorted.
Cundy replied: "I remember Manchester City when they won the first titles under Pep Guardiola, I said the same thing. They're a tough watch."
O'Hara chimed in: "But they won four Premier League titles, you think they care?"
"What I'm saying is that Pep's side, they were a tough watch," Cundy reiterated.
"It was backwards, they would bore you. Then the last couple of seasons when they won the Premier League, they were entertaining. There was a high energy.
"That's an energy that Liverpool have lost and there's a reason why Slot's done that. I get why he's done it because he's looked at the team, he didn't have to change much he's said we've got enough firepower to kill teams because we score enough goals."
Paul countered: "Is that not being a good manager?"
"I'm not saying he's not a good manager," Cundy insisted.
"What's your point then!?" Paul exclaimed, clearly agitated by Cundy's stance.
"He's always had a thing about Liverpool… Jason's improved as a pundit over the years. I spoke to him 15 years ago and it was pretty average. He's gone back into that mode now.”
Cundy responded: "Paul we don't need to fall out, you're too close to the situation. I get why you're defending your club. And I understand it.”
"I'm not defending them, I'm trying to provide a counterargument to your nonsense," Paul replied, undeterred.
They eventually agreed to disagree – but Cundy’s comments sparked a fierce debate on talkSPORT.
Another Reds fan called him deluded, while even our very own chief football anchor Adrian Durham accused Cundy of talking rubbish.
So why not have your say in the poll above – and we’ll settle this once and for all?
