Tottenham take on Arsenal this weekend and Jamie O’Hara believes Spurs have a defender who is comfortably better than one of Arsenal’s key men.

O’Hara – a known Tottenham fan despite his punditry – is always good for an opinion on his former team.

Of course, with the north London derby this weekend, O’Hara is as fired up as he can be and he’s been giving his opinion on if some Tottenham players are better than Arsenal’s.

Given the Gunners finished second last season and Tottenham missed out on the top four, it’s hard to argue anyone from Spurs gets into Mikel Arteta’s side.

However, O’Hara has suggested that there’s at least one player at Tottenham who does, and in doing so, has claimed he’s better than Ben White.

Pedro Porro better than Ben White

Speaking on TalkSPORT alongside Jason Cundy, O’Hara got into a heated debate over Pedro Porro and White, with O’Hara insisting the Spaniard was the better right-back.

"Pedro Porro is a better player than Ben White”, O’Hara said, before Cundy disagreed, saying, “He is not, mate."

The back and forth continued, with O’Hara insisting on Porro’s brilliance, “Yes, he is,”, while Cundy doubled down on his support of White, "No, he is not better than Ben White."

"Yes, he is. Pedro Porro is an amazing football player. And Udogie plays week in week out at left-back. He was one of the best left-backs in the country last season,” O’Hara carried on.

Cundy then accused O’Hara of overplaying Udogie’s talents, stating: "Was he? One of the best in the country? You might have over-egged that a little bit. In the country?"

Porro and White are different players

It’s a fair enough comment from O’Hara here in that Porro, on his day, can be a better player than Ben White.

However, on the reverse of that, and consistent performances suggest otherwise, Ben White is probably the more accomplished defender at the top level.

Naturally, you can make a case for either player here and both have different qualities that come out in different ways in certain games.

Come the big clash this weekend, both White and Porro are likely to be crucial to who wins the game.
