Tottenham fans will still be feeling the effects of their recent defeat to Brighton.

After a mixed start to the new Premier League campaign, Ange Postecoglou’s side were starting to pick up, win games and bring back the feel-good factor.

At the break at the Amex Stadium, Spurs fans were in dreamland because they were 2-0 up and heading towards winning six games in a row in all competitions.

But then Tottenham capitulated in only ways they could and it has put a dampener on proceedings, with West Ham due to visit after the international break.

Perhaps Postecoglou can lift spirits by, not just reacting with a win against the Hammers, but starting a much-talked-about teenager amongst their ranks.

Harry Redknapp has already questioned Timo Werner – the season-long loan signing is starting instead of the injured captain Son Heung-min.

But Redknapp feels Mikey Moore is a better player and feels the 17-year-old is ready now for the Tottenham first team, as he told talkSPORT (07/10/24 at 8:15 am).

Moore has already starred for Spurs in the Europa League and has also looked lively off the bench in the Premier League.

There was already hype about the academy star before he even kicked a ball this season, and now that he is showing promise, that talk and hype will only grow.

Mikey Moore ready to start now for Tottenham

“I like the other kid who came on, I think he looks a better wide left player (than Werner), Mikey Moore,” said Redknapp.

“I know he is just a kid, but he has got something. He looks like a real player for the future or for now, for me. I think he looks the real deal.”

Timo Werner under pressure

When Tottenham re-signed Werner, he knew that he was coming in to be a squad player and play second fiddle to Son out wide.

But even then, Werner is getting verbally battered for his performances and now he is under serious pressure with Moore breathing down his neck.

When Son returns from action, he will resume his position on the left, but if Postecoglou ever wanted to make a change, then fans would probably want Moore to come off the bench rather than their loan star.

That tells you everything you need to know about where Werner is at and how this current Spurs spell isn’t going to plan.
