Chelsea have been warned that two major European clubs could sign Cole Palmer in the next few years if they don’t kick on.

The Blues made an excellent start to life under Enzo Maresca, however, their form has dropped off over recent weeks and they have now been dragged into battling for their place in the top four.

With Palmer now seen as one of the best players in Europe, he will expect to be playing Champions League football and fighting for titles.

Right now, the West London club seem a fair way off competing for major silverware and they have been warned that must soon change to keep Palmer satisfied.

Chelsea must finish in the top four

Former Champions League winner Dietmar Hamann has warned Chelsea that the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid will want to take Cole Palmer if they don’t kick on.

Palmer will have gone two seasons without Champions League football and Hamann claims that will be the 22-year-old’s minimum expectation for this season.

Hamann said: “Cole Palmer will be pleased to see that Chelsea are making progress because getting back into the Champions League was a minimum requirement from this season.

Chelsea warned Real Madrid and Bayern Munich will want Cole Palmer

The ex-Liverpool midfielder reckons that the West London club will need to have won trophies within the next two to three seasons to keep the former Man City star happy.

“In two or three seasons’ time he might think about leaving if he hasn't won a major trophy, he will want to be challenging at least but at the moment he is committed to the club,” added Hamann.

“He has a healthy arrogance to his game and that could end up taking him to Real Madrid or Bayern Munich, it depends on what happens at Chelsea. I think what happens over the next 12 months will be key.”
