'He was the one': Tony Cascarino claims Arsenal should have signed £100m striker last summer

Arsenal are not having the best of times at the moment, and talkSPORT pundit Tony Cascarino thinks that the Gunners could have solved their problems last summer.
Mikel Arteta's side are nine points behind leaders Liverpool in the Premier League table.
Arsenal have scored 18 goals in 11 league games this season. Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea all have scored more goals than the Gunners.
Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino believes that Arsenal would have scored more goals and would have won more matches this season had they signed Alexander Isak from Newcastle United in the summer of 2024.
TBR reported in September that Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur all had Isak on their radar in the summer of 2024, but Newcastle did not sell him.
Isak has scored four goals and given two assists in nine Premier League matches for Newcastle so far this season.
The 25-year-old Sweden international striker found the back of the net 21 times in the league last season. The Newcastle star, valued at £100 million, according to Newcastle World, also gave two assists.
Arsenal told they should have signed Alexander Isak from Newcastle United
Cascarino said about Arsenal and Isak on talkSPORT (8:57 am talkSPORT, November 18, 2024): "They (Arsenal) have to have a striker that gets them out of trouble in certain games which win them points more often than not.
"He (Isak) was the one I would have wanted because I think he can get goals that not many strikers can get. He could be quiet in a game, he can be on the fringe of a game, and he can get you a goal."
Liverpool are now interested in Alexander Isak
Arsenal remain interested, but as TBR reported this week, Liverpool have now joined the race for Isak.
Manchester City are also keeping tabs on the Sweden international striker.
Newcastle are trying to convince Isak to sign a new deal, but one of the issues in reaching an agreement is a prospective release clause.
Isak is under contract at Newcastle until the summer of 2028. He joined the Magpies from Real Sociedad in the summer of 2022.
