Heung-Min Son sends message to Rodrigo Bentancur after crushing Tottenham blow

Tottenham captain Heung-Min Son has taken to social media to celebrate their 1-0 League Cup semi-final win over Liverpool on Wednesday (January 8) and send show support for Rodrigo Bentancur.
The 32-year-old was brought off after 72 minutes with the scores at 0-0 as Spurs secured a crucial first-leg win over Arne Slot’s Liverpool.
Bentancur, 27, was stretchered off in the early stages of the game, collapsing after attempting to head the ball towards the goal from a Spurs corner.
Wonderkid Lucas Bergvall scored the controversial winner in the 86th minute, mere moments after a rash challenge on Konstantinos Tsimikas that could have seen him receive a second yellow card.
Liverpool’s bench reacted furiously, with one of Slot’s coaching staff receiving a yellow card after expressing his feelings about the situation a little too fervently.
Speaking candidly about the incident in his press conference after the game, Slot said: "What we can say about it is that he said he (Bergvall) didn't stop the counter-attack. Every manager would prefer a second yellow to a counter-attack that goes on without one player and that still needs to go 80 yards, maybe.
"The second thing is that if you stop a counter-attack with a reckless challenge then he could still give a yellow, but he didn't see it as a reckless challenge – and that's the second thing we can debate about. It is what it is. The positive thing for us – we hate to lose, I hate to lose – but if you have to lose, it's better to lose when there is still a second leg."
Heung-Min Son still key for Tottenham despite wavering fan support
Tottenham exercised the clause in Son’s contract extending it for one more year, with his previous deal set to expire at the end of the season.
The winger took to Instagram after the win, saying: “Proud of the performance tonight from the lads, the support was immense too. More to do, second leg to come. But all of our thoughts and strength are with you Rodrigo Bentancur.”
Son has been integral to Ange Postegoclu’s plans so far this season, starting 21 of his 24 games across all competitions, scoring seven goals, and providing six assists in his 1716 minutes of action.
Tottenham have seven games between now and the second leg on February 6th, including a North London derby with Arsenal.
