Trent Alexander-Arnold scored a stunning free-kick for England tonight and Roy Keane has given his immediate reaction to the Liverpool man’s effort.

Trent slammed in a stunning effort from around 25 yards to double England’s lead in Finland and very much show what he brings to the table.

Lee Carsley made plenty of changes for the trip to Helsinki and those changes paid off, as the likes of Jack Grealish and Angel Gomes excelled.

Of course though, it was the free-kick from Alexander-Arnold that was the headline grabber and over on ITV Sport, Roy Keane has given his reaction to the goal from the Liverpool star.

Roy Keane praises and criticises Trent Alexander-Arnold after England v Finland

Speaking in the studio after the game, Keane praised Alexander-Arnold’s effort and for once, decided that the goalkeeper could do little about it.

"Lovely goal. Great technique. The technique's fantastic, the power behind it, and probably no change for the goalkeeper.

“I am usually harsh on goalkeepers, but I will go easy on that one. The power and accuracy behind it was very difficult for him to stop."

Keane, though, did still find time to slate Trent, as he criticised his defensive skills.

"You give time to Trent, his decision-making and his quality of passes is fantastic, but I still can’t believe how bad he is defensively. Against better teams, he will be found out.” Keane commented.

Keane will never have Trent defensively

It’s almost becoming a bit of a broken record really but the reality is that Roy Keane just does not rate Alexander-Arnold in his own defensive third.

He’s been spoken about so many times by so many people that he must get sick of the comments.

Tonight, Trent was just fine and the comment from Keane here is perhaps a touch harsh.

Yes, he can be better in defence at times but on the balance of his overall game, you have to take a bit of the rough with the smooth.
