How can Paul Mullin play for Wales? Craig Bellamy's three-word response to Wrexham's 'Welshpool' striker

Paul Mullin could very well be playing internationally for Wales soon.
The Liverpool-born forward has become a fans’ favourite and movie star while at Wrexham, and he’s now eyeing Welsh caps.
Since signing for Wrexham when they were in the National League, he has scored 101 goals in 141 appearances, helping the Welsh club to back-to-back promotions.
His career has totally transformed since joining up with Ryan Reynolds, Rob McElhenney and Phil Parkinson.
And the good news for Mullin is that he can play for Wales.
How can Paul Mullin play for Wales?
The 29-year-old qualifies to play for Wales through his grandmother who was born in the country.
He has also expressed a clear desire to represent the Dragons.
Speaking about his international desires earlier this year, he said: “Obviously, I want to play at the highest level possible. I'd love to play for Wales, the country where my nan was born.”
He also commented on potentially representing Wales in 2023.
He added: “I’ll hold out the hope that If I’m playing well enough and I get the chance to do so, I’d be over the moon.
“As an international manager, you’ve got players who are already registered for the country playing at higher levels.
“For me, I play football for Wrexham and give my all to score as many as I can.
“If the opportunity came, it would be beyond my wildest dreams for a player at this level to be called up for a national team.”
At the time, the Wales manager was Rob Page, and he had Mullin in his thoughts.
“We’ve had a few conversations about Paul, so the next step is he’s now on standby and he’s one step away.
“We monitor the Welsh players, and Paul is certainly one we’ve taken note of – and he deserves that. This is the next step of his development.”
However, Craig Bellamy seems a little less sure.
Speaking at a recent fans’ evening in Cardiff, he was asked about Mullin and provided a three-word response – “Give me time.”
That suggests that if Mullin is to get a call-up, it won’t be for a while.
Of course, if he helps Wrexham into the Championship and scores goals there, Bellamy probably won’t have much choice other than to call on ‘Welshpool’.
