At the age of 39, this is likely to be his last run out in the competition, but it's fair to say he's experienced more than enough of it to be pleased.

talkSPORT.com has taken a look at how many times Ronaldo has played at the Euros

How many Euros has Ronaldo played at?

Ronaldo is now playing in his record sixth European Championships, winning one.

He sits in the history books for being the player who has appeared at the most tournaments.

In 2020, he moved above fellow international legends such as Lothar Matthaus, Peter Schmeichel and Alessandro Del Piero

So, after Ronaldo stepped onto the pitch for his country's opening game in Germany, he extended his own record to six.

Unsurprisingly, the Al Nassr superstar also has the record for the most games at the Euros.

He has now played 29 times throughout his six appearances, only ever missing one match when at a tournament and that came back in 2008.

Ronaldo holds multiple records at the Euros

His closest rival for that crown is his Portugal teammate Pepe who now has 24 games at the finals.

As well as making history with appearances, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward also holds the record for the most goals at the Euros.

He scored five goals in the last edition and became the outright leader in the all-time rankings, moving clear of Michel Platini

And he is expected to move even further ahead, with more goals surely on the way in Germany.

Although, Ronaldo is still yet to score this summer and will be hoping to get off the mark against France.
