How many goals Dominic Solanke once claimed he would score if he played Non-League football for one season

Dominic Solanke helped Tottenham avoid a hugely embarrassing result in the FA Cup against Tamworth on Sunday.
The England international was summoned by Ange Postecoglou in the 68th minute as the National League side were holding Spurs to a 0-0 scoreline, replacing Mikey Moore.
Tamworth eventually took Tottenham to extra-time, where the £65m striker helped force an own goal from Nathan Muya Tshikuna in the 101st minute, with goals from Dejan Kulusevski and Brennan Johnson ultimately securing a 3-0 win.
However, it was far from an easy game, and the spirited display from Tamworth actually made a comment from Dominic Solanke – uttered by the England international back in May – seem quite naive.
Dominic Solanke once backed himself to score over 100 goals if he played a season in Non-League
When speaking to Rising Ballers back in May, the Tottenham No.19 was asked how he feels he would fare if he played a 38-game season at Non-League level.
Solanke – who Postecoglou wants to rest – began his answer with humility, saying: “I think it would be tough, to be fair, because it’s so different.”
However, after being accused of lying, the man from Reading admitted: “I’d probably say a good few a game. I’m saying triple digits. 100 and something.”
On that note, let’s take a look at how Solanke performed statistically against Tamworth – to see if he was able to back up his bold claim.
How Dominic Solanke performed in Tamworth 0-3 Tottenham
In 52 minutes of action against Tamworth – who currently sit 16th in the National League – Solanke was unable to even register a shot, let alone a shot on target.
The 27-year-old took 19 touches of the ball, completed just five of his attempted seven passes, and also failed to complete the one dribble he attempted.
Furthermore, Solanke – who has been compared to Hernan Crespo by Carlton Cole – lost possession on nine occasions, as shown by SofaScore.
Of course, there is no doubt the Tottenham No.19 is a talented striker, but he failed to back up his claim to Rising Ballers at the Lamb Ground on Sunday.
