Arsenal are in the market to bolster their attack.
Arsenal have been linked with tons of strikers as of late.
Alexander Isak is a dream target for Arsenal, while Arsenal could go for Evan Ferguson as well.
However, it's not just up front where Arsenal are looking to add.
Indeed, Arsenal are also looking at wingers.
Nico Williams is an Arsenal target, while Arsenal scouted Takefusa Kubo recently too.
Speaking to Sky Sports, David Ornstein has been discussing some potential outgoings at Newcastle, and he touched on Anthony Gordon's future, claiming that Arsenal are indeed among the teams that admire the winger.
Arsenal admire Anthony Gordon
Ornstein shared what he knows about Anthony Gordon and Arsenal's admiration.
The journalist says that Newcastle wouldn't want to sell Gordon, but there are a number of teams who like the winger, including Arsenal.
"Maybe players like Miguel Almiron who looks to be on his way to MLS. Maybe Sean Longstaff, there are other options. They came close to do sing something on Anthony Gordon in the past," Ornstein said.
"Again, I don't think he'd be one they'd like to lose, but I do hear of clubs who have a huge admiration for him, even Arsenal among them like Anthony Gordon."
Anthony Gordon compared to Bukayo Saka
If Arsenal managed to sign Gordon from Newcastle, they'd have one of the most exciting wide pairings in world football.
Indeed, between Bukayo Saka and Anthony Gordon, Arsenal would have two frighteningly direct wingers who love to beat their man, cut inside and score goals.
Both players are fantastic talents, and the stats show just how brilliant they are.
Anthony Gordon | Bukayo Saka | |
Games | 56 | 51 |
Goals | 17 | 21 |
Assists | 14 | 19 |
Top speed | 35.4 km/h | 33.21 km/h |
Both players have been on fire since last year, and if you put them both in the same team, sparks could fly.
If Thomas Tuchel has any sense about him, this will be the wide pairing for England in the coming years, but, who knows? Perhaps these two could also start together for Arsenal.
This transfer may not be the most likely of deals, but Arsenal are keen on Gordon, so this is one to keep an eye on.
