'I can't believe it': Darren Bent says he's been so shocked by £30m Arsenal player recently
Today at 07:45 AM
Arsenal have got back to winning ways recently after back-to-back victories over the past week.
The Gunners look to be back in business, and, as ever, their good form has been spurred on by the performances of their captain.
Martin Odegaard has returned from injury, and he's picked up exactly where he left off.
Odegaard has earned tons of praise for his performances since returning for Arsenal, and speaking on Inside Gooners, Darren Bent has been discussing the Norwegian's form.
Bent says that he actually can't believe how good Odegaard has been, claiming that he expected him to be a bit rusty after his injury.
Darren Bent shocked by Martin Odegaard return
Bent spoke about how good Odegaard has been since he came back.
The £30m man made his return against Chelsea a few weeks ago, and he's managed to hit the ground running, much to the shock of the pundit.
"He’s been superb. I can’t believe it. Usually a little bit of ring rust isn’t there," Bent said.
"He’s been out for, I think he missed 12 games and he’s just finding his feet. But last night, I mean, for that first, we’ll probably say first half, is one of the best performances I’ve probably seen him in an Arsenal shirt. Everything he did was positive.
"The little link up plays, that right hand side between him, Saka and Timber, was just free-flowing that first half. And to have him back, and not only that, he’s energy out of possession.
"He leads the press, he goes and gets after people. To have him back, the captain, it’s massive. I know you can’t talk about one player, but when you look at the influence and the effect he can have on the team when he’s fit, it’s frightening."
Odegaard stats since his return
Bent says that Odegaard has been back to his best since his return, and he's not wrong.
Indeed, the midfielder has already been showing Arsenal exactly what they missed during his absence.

Odegaard, simply put, is one of the best creators in world football, he's wasted no time in getting amongst the assists again upon his return for Arsenal, and he could've had even more if it weren't for some wayward finishing as of late from his teammates.
There's no doubt about it, Odegaard is one of Arsenal's most important players, he's the heartbeat of this team, and he makes everything tick.
Odegaard is arguably Arsenal's most important player, and the Gunners should be able to really kick on now that he's back fit and firing.

Arsenal have plenty of ground to make up in the Premier League title race, but of Odegaard can keep playing to this level, the Gunners will have a fighting chance.
