Cole Palmer is having the time of his life at Chelsea.

Last summer, the 22-year-old made a huge call to leave Manchester City, where he was winning constant trophies, to join a Chelsea team in disarray.

Despite the negative noise around the London club and the dark clouds hovering above Stamford Bridge, Palmer has been one of the best players in the Premier League.

The Treble-winner at Manchester City has taken everything in his stride, and the best thing about it all is that he has done it in a cool and calm fashion.

Palmer scored an incredible 22 Premier League goals last season and supplied 11 assists for a Mauricio Pochettino side that finished sixth.

That has continued during this campaign, including Palmer scoring an incredible four goals against Brighton last week and then helping Chelsea rescue a point against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

He provided the assist for Noni Madueke’s equalising goal, but it’s not that or his performance that left Glenn Hoddle impressed.

Once again, several Chelsea players were carded, with Forest midfielder James Ward-Prowse getting sent off after picking up two yellows.

There was a huge altercation between both sets of players during the game, with nearly everyone, including the benches, getting involved.

But one man decided to sit back and watch on like he was tuning into a movie and that was Palmer.

Hoddle stated that he missed that moment at first, but then when he was shown the footage, he thought it was ‘brilliant’, as he told Premier League Productions (07/10/24 at 5:30 pm).

Cole Palmer’s reaction to Chelsea and Nottingham Forest players’ altercation

"Yeah, he is (such a cool customer)," responded Hoddle to Palmer sitting down on the floor during the altercation between the Forest and Chelsea players. "It's the way he plays.

"I love that. I saw that afterwards, I didn't see it at the time, but it's brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Just chilled."

Cole Palmer on England duty

It’s everyone’s favourite time of the year, international duty! This is where fans fear their players getting injured, as Arsenal fans found out when Martin Odegaard got injured.

Palmer missed England’s previous international outing through injury, so he wasn’t part of Lee Carsley’s first squad after he was put in interim charge.

Many are still baffled that Palmer didn’t start for England at Euro 2024, but ahead of the 2026 World Cup, the Chelsea star is proving to be his nation’s best player.
