Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min had to come off during Spurs’ Europa League win over Qarabag FK on Thursday night.

The Tottenham forward went down midway through the second half and received treatment, but could not continue.

Son walked gingerly off the pitch as he made way for Timo Werner in the 70th minute of Spurs’ 3-0 win over Qarabag.

Ange Postecoglou wasn’t able to provide much of an update on Thursday night.

The Tottenham boss told reporters that Son looked tired but stressing he hadn’t spoken to him or the medical team.

Postecoglou has now provided the latest as he spoke at Friday’s press conference ahead of Sunday’s trip to Manchester United.

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou doesn’t think Son Heung-min knock is too bad

Postecoglou said, as per football.london: “I think still early days from last night, boys are tired – the ones who put in a shift.

“Apart from Sonny, everyone’s okay – and I don’t think Sonny’s too bad.”

The Tottenham manager added: “We’ve got another day up our sleeve to give him every chance.”

Postecoglou does not seem too concerned

Obviously it’s early days, but Postecoglou does not seem massively concerned about Son’s fitness.

When managers sound ominous, saying things like “it’s not looking good”, then that’s worrying.

However, Postecoglou admitted he doesn’t think Son is in “too bad” a state, so this could be a case of a late fitness test.

The 31-year-old would be a huge miss for Tottenham, particularly in such a tough fixture as Man United away, so fingers crossed he’s fine for Sunday’s game.
