'I really need a lot more': Gabriel Agbonlahor not impressed with £120k-a-week Aston Villa player

Aston Villa are flying high at present, having started the Premier League season well and also surging to three consecutive Champions League group-stage wins.
The Villans have recorded victories over Young Boys, Bayern Munich and Bologna in the competition, with the latter coming on Tuesday night.
John McGinn opened the scoring for Villa on 55 minutes with a free kick that evaded everyone, skipped off the turf and bounced into the far corner of the net.
Nine minutes later, Jhon Duran put the Villans 2-0 up with a neat flick from Morgan Rogers' delivery to also find the far corner of Bologna's goal.
Most of Villa’s players impressed on the day, but one player’s display was met with a mixed reaction.
Former Villans forward Gabriel Agbonlahor took to X during the game to say he wanted to see “a lot more” from said player.

The player in question is Leon Bailey, who has been struggling for form lately and wasn’t at his best against Bologna.
The £120,000-a-week man (Capology) looked off the pace for much of the encounter before being replaced by Jacob Ramsey on the hour mark.
Agbonlahor wrote on X: “Leon Bailey I need more man I really need a lot more.”

The Birmingham Mail was pleased with Bailey’s performance, giving him a 7 out of 10 for his efforts on the night.
“Bailey made Villa’s first chance of sorts as he swept the ball across for Rogers, but the Villa forward’s effort was blocked,” they wrote.
“In the 12th minute he had a chance to fire at goal, but opted to take a touch instead which allowed the Bologna defenders to smother the ball.
“The winger might not be in top form at the moment, but he’s certainly not hiding. He’ll be fine.”
Meanwhile, Goal.com went with a 4 out of 10, writing: “A weak link. Offered very little and a poor pass handed Bologna a shot on goal. Scuffed one wide at start of second half.”

Aston Villa are next in Premier League action as they host Bournemouth in a 3pm kick-off on Saturday 26 October.
