Bukayo Saka is nearing a return from injury for Arsenal and his first appearance back for the Gunners could come against Fulham in the Premier League.

Saka has been sidelined since December with a hamstring injury but his return is now very close with the winger stepping up his recovery.

The youngster has plenty of work to do in order to drag the North London club back into the title race, but his return to action will be a major boost for Mikel Arteta.

His first game back is now being assessed and his chances of playing in the next Premier League fixture at home to Fulham has been discussed internally.

Bukayo Saka could well be in Arsenal squad vs Fulham

Bukayo Saka is currently well on track to be named in the Arsenal squad against Fulham on Tuesday evening, according to Charles Watts.

The 23-year-old has been training by himself with the ball and is expected to return to full training when the international players start returning to London Colney.

The Gunners are expected to make a late decision on the winger, however, if all goes to plan, Saka could be available for selection against the Cottagers.

Watts told his YouTube channel: “According to the people I’ve been speaking to say he is now very, very close to a return and could well, if all goes well, be in the squad to face Fulham on Tuesday.

“The last two weeks he’s been doing lots of ball work out the pitch by himself and is now waiting for the international players to return to join in with full training.

“If nothing goes wrong or they believe he is ready, it will be a late decision. At the moment, he wants to be involved and Arsenal hope he will be involved.”

How could Arsenal’s attack look vs Fulham?

Saka is unlikely to start, therefore, Arteta will have to select from his current list of options he’s had over the last few months.

Mikel Merino impressed for Spain at striker just like he has done for the Gunners and he could well lead the line at the Emirates Stadium.

Gabriel Martinelli is likely to start again but he could be moved to the left with Ethan Nwaneri starting on the right-hand side.

Nwaneri scored a brilliant goal for England U21s and his manager will be hoping he can continue his form in the Premier League.
