Yan Couto's loan move to Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City will be made into a permanent deal.
That's according to Ruhr Nachrichten, who provide the details of the permanent switch today despite the defender's loan deal only being done in the summer.
The newspaper reports that Dortmund have already bagged their first transfer for next season in Couto, despite the season only being two months old.
A purchase agreement in the initial loan deal with Manchester City has already come into effect but is tied to 'very low parameters' according to RN's information.
They say that the initial loan deal to take him from Manchester City cost around €4m and included certain sporting criteria to make it permanent. They have now been met.
However, they deny reports from England that the clause is valued at €30m and is in fact, €20m. They do concede, though, that there may be further bonus payments in the 'low single-digit million range'. Either way, the Brazilian will become the second most expensive right-back in Bundesliga history behind Bayern Munich's Sacha Boey.
The exact details on his contract with Dortmund have not been revealed but RN say that the right back has been given a long-term contract by the German side.
Couto has had something of a slow start to life in Dortmund since moving from Manchester City in the summer thanks to a minor injury but that's not changed plans.
Those in charge at the club are 'without exception convinced' of the 22-year-old's abilities, hence their acceptance of the purchase clause which has now been activated.
