There was no problems for Arsenal in the Champions League on Tuesday night with the north London side disposing of Sporting CP.
Mikel Arteta showed Pep Guardiola just how to handle the Portuguese outfit following Manchester City’s convincing defeat earlier in the season.
Arsenal were able to cruise to an emphatic 5-1 victory which has taken their points total up to 10 following their opening five Champions League games.

Troy Deeney has been proven exactly right about Kai Havertz after what happened in Arsenal vs Sporting as he was able to find the back of the net in the first half.

What impressed Mikel Arteta most in Arsenal’s win over Sporting
The Gunners dominated over in Lisbon in what has proven to be a difficult stadium to visit for English sides over recent years.
Arsenal’s previous outing in Europe had saw them taste defeat against Inter Milan at the San Siro, but Tuesday’s display was completely different.
“Yeah, well, it’s true that the result is very different by the performance, and as well the intensity of the opponent that we faced when we played Inter,” Arteta told the Arsenal website.
“I was so pleased with what I saw, and I knew that in that pathway, good things were going to happen in Europe. Today we’ve been able to do that and replicate it and be even more efficient in the opposition half.
“And, very pleased because the team played with so much courage, because they are so good. and watching them live, I realised how good they are.”
There has been a lot of positives to take recent at Arsenal with Arteta also hailing David Raya’s improved confidence between the sticks.
Arsenal dominated Sporting CP in Arteta masterclass
Considering how Sporting dispatched of City just a matter of weeks ago, this really was a statement win for the Gunners.
Of course, Sporting are now without their manager in Ruben Amorim following his appointment at Manchester United.
However, Arteta clearly set his Arsenal side out with a game plan and they certainly executed it to perfection.
