'Ivan Juric to resign before Southampton sack' - Fans rage after Brentford

Ivan Jurić has only been in charge for three games as Southampton manager, but fans are already calling for him to be sacked.

Southampton have just lost their third game in a row, going down 5-0 at home against a ruthless Brentford side today (4 January).

The Saints have been abysmal since their promotion to the Premier League this season and are rock bottom with only six points from 20 games.

After collecting one win in 17 games, former boss Russell Martin was sacked and his temporary stand-in, SImon Rusk was able to collect a point away to Fulham.

Croatian manager Jurić was brought in to revitalise a team that has looked lost under Russell Martin. However results have yet to improve.

In the press conference ahead of the loss to Brentford, Jurić revealed he was due to meet with Saints ownership about transfer plans and his ideas, that meeting may now be about his future at the club instead.

Southampton fans were hopeful that the new manager would bring a change in form, but nothing has changed and the fans were quick to voice their discontent on social media after the game.

One fan said they would not be surprised if Jurić himself chose to walk away, and another said he would be “sacked before the end of the season”.

Another supporter claimed the former Roma boss “hasn’t a clue” while another was furious with the Saints board for having “lied” about Juric and the club’s situation back in the Premier League.

In other news, Southampton have been backed to sign Leeds United star Pascal Struijk.
