Man City ace Jack Grealish has taken to social media as his side “start the new year the right way” with an impressive 4-1 Premier League win over West Ham on Saturday (January 4).

The 29-year-old was left out of the starting XI and came off the bench for the last six minutes as Pep Guardiola’s side moved within two points of the Champions League spots.

City took the lead after just ten minutes thanks to Vladimir Coufal’s own goal with the ball taking a deflection off the defender from Savinho’s shot.

Erling Haaland scored his first just before half-time, securing his brace in the 55th minute to make it 3-0 to the hosts.

Phil Foden then got in on the action, rounding off the scoring for the home side before Niclas Fullkrug scored a late consolation for West Ham.

City appear to have navigated their way through a remarkably rough patch of form, winning their last two Premier League games having won just one in their previous nine.

The England international is going through a barren spell, to say the least, starting 10 of his 18 games across all competitions, scoring zero goals, and providing two assists in his 940 minutes of action.

Grealish has now gone over a year without scoring, with his last club goal coming in Man City's 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace on December 16th, 2023.

The winger took to Instagram to celebrate their much-needed win over West Ham, saying: “Well done boys!!! Start the new year the right way.”

Guardiola’s side host League Two Salford in their first FA Cup game of the season next Saturday (January 11) in what should be a routine win for the Premier League champions.

City then travel to Brentford for their second Premier League game of 2025, knowing a win could see them return to the top four.
