Jack Grealish making a potential move to Tottenham faces an issue even if the Man City ace was available for a January transfer, according to The Times.
A combination of inconsistent form and relentless injury problems have left Spurs in desperate need of some reinforcements with the market now open again.
That had led to some recent suggestions that Ange Postecoglou’s side are monitoring Grealish with a view to a move, although it now seems unlikely such a move will happen.
According to this update, even in the event that the Man City ace does become available, his salary would be a “problem” for Tottenham with any attempts to get a deal done.
Having moved joined Pep Guardiola’s side in the summer of 2021, Grealish is apparently earning £300,000 per week at the Etihad (The Athletic).

A new wide option on the left could well be useful at Spurs given the struggles of the on-loan Timo Werner and the fact Son Heung-min is out of contract at the end of this season.
Man City though are facing some significant squad turnover of their own in the near future, with a number of their veteran players struggling to meet standards this season.
Amid that there have been suggestions that Grealish remains in the plans of Guardiola going forward at the Etihad.
With two-and-a-half year remaining on the 29-year-old’s contract the defending Premier League champions could demand a big fee for him.
Combined with the Man City man’s salary it would make this major financial gamble for Tottenham, given Grealish himself did not score in club football in the whole of 2024.
All of that means it would surely be a big shock if the winger was to complete a move to north London in the next few weeks.
