Jamal Musiala says he has seen a player at Arsenal who's even better than Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister

Arsenal and Liverpool both have a tremendous squad.
Arne Slot’s side have been the best team in the Premier League so far this season. They are six points clear of Arsenal despite playing a game fewer and are the favourites to go all the way.
The Gunners, on the other hand, haven’t had the best start to the season, but everyone knows they can go on an incredible run if they get their form back.
Two hugely important players for Arsenal and Liverpool play in the middle of the park. Jamal Musiala has had his say on who’s better.
Jamal Musiala says Declan Rice is better than Alexis Mac Allister
Declan Rice and Alexis Mac Allister are both key to the way Arsenal and Liverpool play.
Mikel Arteta signed the England international in 2023 for a club-record fee. The Arsenal manager was desperate to land him and he got his wish in the end.
Liverpool signed Mac Allister for a lot cheaper, and the Argentine has been a fine signing for them. He played really well under Jurgen Klopp and has performed brilliantly under Slot too.
Rice is arguably the bigger name in the Premier League, but Mac Allister has won the World Cup and has already lifted silverware in Liverpool’s colours.
That may give the Argentine the edge in a debate between the two, but Musiala, who knows a thing or two about playing with great players, thinks Rice is the better midfielder.
In a video on Goal, the Bayern Munich star was asked to pick the better player between Mac Allister and Rice. Musiala picked the Arsenal man.
Declan Rice vs Alexis Mac Allister: Stats compared
Arsenal fans will defend Rice all the way, while Liverpool supporters will claim that Mac Allister is the better player.
This debate could go on forever, so here’s a look at what their stats in the Premier League in the 2024/25 season say.
Stat | Declan Rice | Alexis Mac Allister |
Appearances | 14 | 14 |
Goals | 0 | 0 |
Assists | 2 | 0 |
Pass percentage per game | 90.4% | 87.1% |
Aerial duels won per game | 1.1 | 0.6 |
Tackles per game | 1.6 | 2.8 |
Interceptions per game | 0.7 | 0.3 |
Clearances per game | 1.3 | 0.7 |
Shots per game | 1.1 | 0.7 |
Key passes | 1.6 | 1.1 |
Rice completely dominates Mac Allister in most of the above stats. That’s probably why Musiala picked the Arsenal man over the Liverpool midfielder.
However, if Mac Allister goes on to beat Rice and Arsenal to both the Premier League and the Champions League crowns, he will walk away with the bragging rights.
