Rangers captain James Tavernier has taken to social media to share a training ground update with the fans ahead of their Scottish Cup tie with Fraserburgh on Sunday (January 19).
The 33-year-old, who hadn't featured in 2025, made his long-awaited return from injury in their comprehensive 3-0 Scottish Premier League win over Aberdeen on Wednesday (January 15).
Tavernier had missed Rangers’ previous four games across all competitions, including their impressive 3-0 Old Firm win in their first game of the year.
The Englishman came off the bench for the last eleven minutes, with the score at 1-0 and the game still in the balance.
Fellow substitute Leon Balogun game off the bench to help secure all three points, scoring and assisting to close the gap on league leaders at arch-rivals Celtic to 13 points.
James Tavernier raring to go as Rangers take on Fraserburgh in the Scottish Cup
The right-back has once again been key for Rangers this season, starting 26 of his 30 games across all competitions, scoring three goals, and providing six assists in his 2361 minutes on the field.
Philippe Clement may be inclined to give his captain a rest for their game against the Scottish Highland Football League side.
Tavernier will be ready should he get the call, however, taking to Instagram to share an image of himself from their most recent training session.
Rangers will no doubt be confident of a comfortable win against Fraserburgh as Clement seeks to pick up his second piece of silverware of his tenure.
Clement’s attention will then turn south of the border, as Rangers prepare for a trip to Man United for a crucial Europa League tie on Thursday (January 23).
