Jarrod Bowen sends message to West Ham teammates after 'appalling' twist
Today at 03:00 AM
West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen has taken to social media to share a message with his teammates after Graham Potter’s first win as manager.
The Hammers managed to claim a 3-2 victory over Fulham, courtesy of some appalling defensive mistakes by Fulham.
Goals from Carlos Soler and Tomas Soucek gave West Ham the lead inside 33 minutes, before Fulham got a huge slice of luck as Alex Iwobi’s cross went unclaimed and found the back of the net.
However, Danny Ings’ quick thinking set Lucas Paqueta up to score West Ham’s third, and despite another Iwobi cross that ended up as a goal, the Irons were able to close out the game.
Despite never having a grasp on the game due to Fulham’s dominance on the ball, the Hammers showed resilience to claim the first three points of Potter’s tenure as manager.
Jarrod Bowen celebrates despite missing out on the West Ham victory
Bowen has been West Ham’s key man once again this season, registering five goals and four assists in the Premier League.
However, the former Hull City man has been side-lined after breaking his foot in a 5-0 loss to Liverpool on 29 December.
That did not stop the England international from taking to Instagram to share a message to his teammates, saying “3 points, well done everyone.”
West Ham will be hoping that their London-derby win can help kick-start what has been a shaky campaign so far.
The Hammers’ fans will also be hoping that the team can find a striker to replace the injured Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug, as they are linked to Brighton striker Evan Ferguson.
The East London side will face Crystal Palace next at home on Saturday (18 January).
In other news, Keith Hackett was baffled by this VAR decision during the game between West Ham and Fulham.
