Joe Gomez shares the one warning Arne Slot 'constantly' gives to the Liverpool players behind the scenes

So far, Arne Slot is having a remarkable first season at Liverpool.
The Anfield faithful would have had justified concerns about whether Arne Slot was the right man to replace Jurgen Klopp.
If the pressure of succeeding a Liverpool legend such as Klopp, the club also signed just one player in the summer transfer window in Federico Chiesa from Liverpool, which did not make his job any easier.
Adapting to the Premier League is far from a straightforward task for any foreign manager as well.
However, Arne Slot has managed to put every such doubt to bed, with his Liverpool side sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League table with a four-point gap.
In the Champions League as well, the Reds have won six out of their six matches, while only conceding a single goal so far.
Trent Alexander-Arnold hailed Arne Slot’s tactics as “mind-blowing”, which is a testament to how special a coach he is, considering the Englishman played under a world-class tactician such as Jurgen Klopp throughout his career.
Even Curtis Jones’ honest admission about Slot was that the Dutchman’s style of play “suits” him more than Klopp’s philosophy.
Joe Gomez says Arne Slot tells Liverpool players not to ‘get complacent’
In an interview with The Athletic’s James Pearce, Joe Gomez lifted the lid on how Arne Slot always tells the Liverpool players not to rest on their laurels.
Gomez initially explained: “It’s a process from a tactical standpoint. It is definitely not as straightforward as just seeing a pass and playing it.”
“A lot of it is about how we can get three-v-twos around the the pitch and try not to overload on one side. Just because the pass is on, it doesn’t mean you should play it, just wait on the ball a bit more. It has been great to learn. You just want to get better and improve as a player and the coach is helping me and the rest of the boys to do that.”
The Englishman added: “Arne is constantly reminding us that we cannot get complacent. The coaching staff and the gaffer’s attention to detail is second to none”
“I think even when we come in at half-time sometimes, when things are not going our way, the ability to adapt in certain situations and guide us in the right way is so good.”
Previously, Gomez hailed Slot for not “trying to be like Jurgen [Klopp].”

Michael Owen lauded Arne Slot’s “demeanour” as “cool” and “calculated”, which could perhaps suggest why the Liverpool boss’ advice to his players is not to get ahead of themselves.
Slot’s demands that pushed Mohamed Salah to call him ‘crazy’
Mohamed Salah was frustrated with Slot due to the “intensity” he demanded from the Egyptian behind the scenes, according to Dutch journalist Marcel van der Kraan.
“[Mohamed] Salah was cursing in the summer about all that Slot wanted from him.”
‘You're crazy,' Salah said at one point. That was about the intensity Slot demands, what all the strikers have to do in terms of work. I heard this from guys who were at that training camp.”
It seems like the 46-year-old has been unafraid to step into Anfield and call the shots.
Ultimately, Arne Slot seems to command respect from his players, which explains why they are showing no signs of complacency.
Liverpool’s latest 1-0 win against Girona in the Champions League was another demonstration of the fact that the players in question are ready to impress Slot.
