Joe Low Exclusive: Swansea, Plymouth & Preston race to agree deal after two offers rejected

Wycombe are braced for more Joe Low bids after rejecting two offers from Swansea City for the centre-back, sources have told Football Insider.

Swansea, Plymouth Argyle and Preston North End are all keen to lure the 22-year-old to the Championship.

The Welsh outfit have already had bids around the £500,000 to 600,000 mark knocked back by Wycombe.

The 22-year-old, who has been instrumental in Wycombe’s surprise promotion push this season, is understood to be keen open to a move as he wants to challenge himself at Championship level.

Low, who has two Welsh caps, joined Wycombe in July 2023 after leaving Bristol City. The defender has been a key feature for the side having played every minute of every League One and League Cup match so far in the 2024-25 campaign.

Swansea suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat to Southampton in the FA Cup on 12 January. They also sit 12th in the Championship.

The Swans are six points outside the playoff places, with 20 games remaining this season to make up the gap.

Luke Williams’ side are now attempting to bring Cardiff-born centre-back Low back to Wales.

Low was released by Bristol in 2023 after making just two senior appearances. He gained valuable experience during loan spells at Walsall and Eastleigh before moving to Wycombe.

This season, the defender has impressed with four goals in 28 appearances, attracting the attention of several Championship clubs.

Despite this competition, Swansea are preparing another bid to secure his services. A move to the Championship may prove too enticing for the player to pass up.

The club are also targeting Barnsley midfielder Adam Phillips as part of their efforts to strengthen the squad.
