Joelinton reacts to Newcastle ace Dan Burn's message after Aston Villa nightmare

Joelinton reacted to a message from Newcastle teammate Dan Burn as they continue to pursue a place in next year’s Champions League.

Newcastle suffered a dip in form ahead of their Carabao Cup final against Liverpool in March, but have since recovered.

The Magpies were on a six-game winning run in all competitions before a chastening 4-1 defeat at the hands of Aston Villa on Saturday (19 April).

Having been the goal-scoring hero for his side in the Carabao Cup final, Burn had a miserable game for Newcastle, including scoring an own goal.

Both clubs are vying for a place in next year’s edition of the Champions League and the result means the gap between the two sides is just two points, heading into the final stretch of Premier League games.

Following the humbling result against Villa, Burn posted a series of images on Instagram, captioned: “On to Saturday”.

The post was liked by the former Fulham defenders teammate, Joelinton, showing support for the England international.

Plenty of potential suitors are queueing up, ready to try and prize away some of Newcastle’s star players this summer.

Bruno Guimaraes has interest from Arsenal, Sandro Tonali is being watched by Barcelona, whilst Alexander Isak is on the wish list of almost every major European team.

Newcastle are in a much stronger financial position than they were last season, and are unlikely to have to sell young stars to remain PSR compliant this summer.

However, with a taste of success coming in the form of the Carabao Cup, those stars will undoubtedly be keen to regularly feature in Europe’s premier competition.

If Newcastle fail to qualify for the Champions League this season, they may have a hard time keeping their stars this summer.
